Barbara is the author of two novels, One Step From Grace and My Father’s House, as well as several short stories, essays and poems.

Born, raised in, and a lifelong resident of the Midwest, her love of, and dedication to, the written word propelled her through a successful forty-year career in healthcare communications, advocacy and government relations during which she was the individual and collective voice for many.

Barbara earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, with a minor in American Literature, from Michigan State University and has been a guest lecturer in Journalism classes at MSU for several years, and a mentor to students preparing to graduate and enter their chosen profession.

Recently retired, she now enjoys her days rediscovering her own voice and taking the time to explore the beauty of each changing season — those outside and those within.
